Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS's) WorldWide has a wide range of ASME and CSA Z662 qualified WPS's and the expertise to develop a purpose-built WPS solution for your unique applications. Keeping Your System On-Line The primary reason for a hot tapped interconnection is to avoid the operational problems associated with shut-down of a pipeline or plant.  Contrary to popular belief, it is a pipeline's cooling rate, and not hoop stress, that is the critical factor in "hot" welding.   WorldWide conducts research and field reconnaissance to assess each situation.  It will then consult with you to select a project execution plan that optimizes costs and system throughput during hot welding. In some cases, pipeline operation and steel chemistry factors will necessitate a flow reduction (not a pressure reduction) or stoppage during the "hot" welding work.  In these cases, WorldWide works with its clients to develop the most cost-effective solution to minimize downtime and operational impacts. Qualification of Procedures and Welders All of WorldWide's WPS's and welders are qualified under applicable codes by a certified welding laboratory prior to installation.  Each welder is individually qualified for each WPS. Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) WorldWide uses experienced NDE personnel to conduct field reconnaissance and inspect welds as they are completed.  We can also train appropriately qualified NDE personnel selected by our client.
